Dr. Aravi is a consultant adult rheumatologist with a strong academic background and diverse training experience. He obtained his medical degree from James Cook University, Queensland and subsequently completed his residency and basic physician training at the Logan and Princess Alexandra Hospitals. He obtained his fellowship in Rheumatology (FRACP) after working at the Campbelltown/Camden, Wollongong and Canberra Hospitals. He was then awarded the prestigious Ken Muirden Overseas Training Fellowship by Arthritis Australia and pursued further training and research projects at the renowned Royal National Hospital of Rheumatic Diseases in Bath, England.

Aravi maintains an active presence in the field of research, collaborating with international research groups and has publications covering a wide range of topics, including Psoriatic Arthritis, Gout, and Inflammatory Myositis. He has also made significant contributions to medical education, having served on various physician trainee and medical education committees during his training.

As a specialist adult rheumatologist, Aravi possesses comprehensive proficiency in managing diverse inflammatory and rheumatic diseases. His expertise includes rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, spondyloarthritis, gout, systemic lupus erythematosus, myositis, connective tissue disease vasculitis, and osteoarthritis.

Beyond his professional commitments, Aravi enjoys cricket, rugby and soccer. Additionally, he cherishes the opportunity to spend quality time with his family in the picturesque surroundings of South East Queensland.

    The term myositis refers to conditions where there is inflammation of muscle. In practice, myositis tends to be associated with the idiopathic inflammatory myopathies (IMM): polymyositis (PM), dermatomyositis (DM), myositis associated with cancer, juvenile dermatomyositis, overlap myositis, and inclusion body myositis (IBM).
